Location

The Club is based in the village of Great Rissington within easy reach of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford. We have an established shooting range on the village sports field. Click here to find us.

The Club’s normal shooting times are on Wednesday evenings from about 6.15pm and Saturday mornings from about 10.00am, weather permitting.

Membership

Applications for membership are welcomed from all in accordance with the Club’s Constitution and the rules of Archery GB, the body that regulates archery activities in the United Kingdom. The Club does not discriminate against any person on the grounds of race, gender, colour, religion, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation.

Indoor Archery

During the winter months, when the weather is frequently unsuitable for outdoor shooting, the Club arranges indoor archery sessions at a nearby location. Details of arrangements for the forthcoming winter sessions are normally issued to members in August / September each year.

Open Days

The Club holds an open day on or close to the last Monday of May (Spring Bank Holiday) each year. All-comers are invited to see demonstrations of archery and displays of equipment, and to participate in free archery sessions. Those who are new to the sport have an opportunity to gain an insight into the activity and may be encouraged to sign up for a beginners’ course.

Beginners’ Courses

We run two beginners’ courses each year and possibly extra courses dependant upon demand. All courses and instruction are supervised by Archery GB qualified coaches with the assistance of experienced archers.
